SEASONAL POOL MAINTENANCE 2023 - 2024
Pool closures are happening in preparation for a busy spring and summer season. Ys across San Diego County are working to improve, maintain and upgrade our aquatics centers. Maintenance and improvements to Y pools will include annual pool repairs, replastering and deep cleaning of the pool and surrounding areas, which require these temporary closures. Pool closures are not at every location and are not simultaneous.

COPLEY-PRICE FAMILY YMCA
The pool at Copley-Price Family YMCA will be closed for maintenance and pool draining and cleaning as we work to improve our aquatics center, requiring temporary closures on the following dates.
- Dates: December 18 - 22. Reopen date: December 23
- Facilities/amenities affected: Aquatic facility closed
DAN MCKINNEY FAMILY YMCA
The pool at Dan McKinney Family YMCA is now open.
JOE AND MARY MOTTINO FAMILY YMCA
The pool and facilities at Joe and Mary Mottino Family YMCA will be closed as we make a substantial investment to improve, maintain and upgrade our aquatics center, requiring temporary closures on the following dates.
- Dates: October 29 - January 2024. Exact reopen date TBD
- Facilities/amenities affected: Outdoor pool closed.
RANCHO FAMILY YMCA
The pool at Rancho Family YMCA will be closed for maintenance and cleaning as we work to improve our aquatics center, requiring temporary closures on the following dates.
- Dates: December 26 - 30. Reopen Date: January 1
- Facilities/amenities affected: All pools and spa will be closed
T. CLAUDE AND GLADYS B. RYAN FAMILY YMCA
The pool and facilities at T. Claude and Gladys B. Ryan Family YMCA will be closed as we make a substantial investment to improve, maintain and upgrade our aquatics center, requiring temporary closures on the following dates.
- Dates: November 24 – January 2024. Exact reopen date TBD
- Facilities/amenities affected: Aquatic facility closed including therapy pool/spa
TOBY WELLS YMCA
The pool and facilities at Toby Wells YMCA will be closed for draining and maintenance as we make a substantial investment to our aquatics center, requiring temporary closures on the following dates.
- Dates: December 24 - January 3. Exact dates and reopen date TBD
- Facilities/amenities affected: Aquatic facility closed including pool/spa
POOLS WITH MODIFIED SCHEDULES
Some pools will remain fully open without closures as their maintenance was completed earlier this year. These pools may have modified schedules, but will remain open.
MAGDALENA ECKE FAMILY YMCA
Swim lessons at our YMCA will be closed for summer holiday on the following dates.
- Break from swim lessons: December 22 - January 1
JACKIE ROBINSON FAMILY YMCA
The pool and facilities at Jackie Robinson Family YMCA will be closed as we make a substantial investment to improve, maintain and upgrade our aquatics center, requiring temporary closures on the following dates.
- Modified Pool Hours: Beginning November 20, the aquatics facility will have the following hours:
- Closed: 11:00am - 4:00pm
- Open 6:30am-11am
- Open 4:00pm-7:30pm
