DEAR Y FRIENDS,

We wanted to update you on a few positive changes that have occurred within our leadership at YMCA Childcare Resource Service (CRS).

Carolyn Woempner, PhD, has accepted the position of Group Vice President of YMCA Community Support Services, a new division of the YMCA of San Diego County comprised of YMCA CRS, YMCA Youth & Family Services (YFS) and the YMCA Child & Youth Development Department (CYD).

Succeeding Carolyn we are pleased to announce Kim McDougal as the new Executive Director for the YMCA CRS department. Her community relationships and ability to integrate work across service areas will prove invaluable.

She also serves as the domain chair for early childhood for the San Diego County Childhood Obesity Initiative.

Kim shared the following statement regarding her new position: "I am honored to have the opportunity to serve CRS and the YMCA of San Diego County in the role of Executive Director. I am excited to work alongside the incredible CRS team as part of the Community Support Services division of the Y to continue to support the youngest and most in need in our community by providing comprehensive, innovative, and collaborative services. At CRS we are committed to providing opportunities for all children to benefit from high-quality early care and education experiences and I will continue this focus as we expand our reach, impact, and depth of expertise. I look forward to working closely with our leadership team to identify collaborative opportunities to enhance the excellent services already being provided to our community."
Education is a life-long passion for Kim. She obtained Bachelor of Arts degrees in Spanish and International Relations from the University of California Davis.
