Stay Cool in San Diego County: Cool Zone at Joe and Mary Mottino Family YMCA

As the temperatures soar in San Diego County, residents are searching for enjoyable ways to beat the heat.

The County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency, in partnership with San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), has introduced "Cool Zones" across the county.

We're excited to announce that the Joe and Mary Mottino Family YMCA in Oceanside is now an official "Cool Zone" to provide relief from the heat through October 31, 2023.

What is a Cool Zone?

Cool Zones are free, air-conditioned settings that welcome older adults, persons with disabilities or anyone looking to escape the heat. It’s a great opportunity for residents to lower their utility bills and help conserve energy in their communities.

Joe and Mary Mottino Family YMCA’s air-conditioned lobby is free and open to enjoy during business hours. Water stations are available.

We welcome the community to enjoy the facility, including the pool with a valid guest pass or YMCA membership. For more information, please see the team at the Welcome Center during your visit.
