It is with tremendous respect and affection that we announce that Kim Morgan is retiring as Executive Director of our Youth & Family Services branch at the end of December.
Under the YMCA of San Diego County, the Youth & Family Services (YFS) branch works to ensure that all people have a safe place to live, a reliable support system, a sense of direction and connections to the resources needed to flourish. YFS programs focus on three primary areas: mental health and support, family preservation and support, and transitional housing and youth development.
After a brief stint in the legal profession, Kim became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist came to the YMCA as a Clinical Coordinator for YFS’ flagship program, Oz San Diego. Under her guidance, the program provided innovative therapy to teens and families in crisis and continues to thrive today, strengthening families to prevent risky behaviors and homelessness among youth.
We are fortunate that Kim has dedicated 26 years of her talents, intellect, and passion to our organization and community to address the most pressing social issues. Kim’s impact at the YMCA and helping vulnerable youth and families in our community is unparalleled. We are honored to carry on her legacy and wish her many year of continued fulfillment ahead!
