On Friday, June 18 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm, Ford Driving Skills for Life will bring it's Teen Driver Safety Program to the Jackie Robinson Family YMCA.

Yesterday, I received the event planning details from Ford Motor Company.

Today, I read the story about another San Diego County teen killed in a car crash last Friday night. The tragedy adds to the toll of teenagers dying on San Diego County roads.
At least seven in North County have been killed since September in accidents involving
teen drivers. Speed, alcohol, inattention and inexperience have all been
to blame.

Ford will showcase the innovations it is rapidly bringing to market, such as the world’s first rear inflatable seat belt and MyKey™ which allows parents to set speed and radio volume limits to their teen drivers’ vehicle. In addition to Ford’s safety technologies displays, they will set up the Ford Driving Skills For Life Booth – Ford’s Teen Driver Safety Program, as well as invite members of the Safety Council to set up booths. Sandy Bauler would also bring out her racecar and sign autograph cards that include safe driving information on them.

Parents, teens, and adults working with teens are encouraged to attend. For more details email [email protected].
