We understand families may face new challenges as communities around the world respond to COVID-19. You and your family may face more anxiety, uncertainty, economic pressure, or demands on your time. This stress can impact the harmony of the home, but it doesn’t have to.
We have a dedicated team of licensed and pre-licensed clinicians, including marriage and family therapists, social workers, and clinical counselors, ready to help. We also have a team of clinicians trained in Disaster Mental Health who are on hand to support the community in times of disaster. We strive to meet every individual and family where they are to create treatment plans based on an individual’s strengths and needs.
Counseling services are accessible across San Diego County and are available in Spanish.
Teletherapy is the online delivery of therapeutic services in a live video-conferencing format. Teletherapy has been around for many years and is an alternative format for a therapist and client to work together. It can be as effective as in-person therapy, and sometimes has advantages over traditional face-to-face sessions. The sessions are confidential and comply with HIPAA requirements to protect your personal health information.
Oftentimes, we think we are struggling alone. Support groups are safe spaces where families can come together to share their stories, experiences, and receive emotional and moral support from each other. This helps reduce isolation and loneliness in challenging times and helps us see that there are others in similar situations.
Through phone-based support, we offer families with young children a listening and empathic ear to problem-solve challenges, support in coping with the current stressors, and guidance understanding what is going on.
We aim to provide an innovative combination of therapeutic support and individualized coaching to youth in foster care/out of home placements who have experienced physical, sexual, financial or emotional harm.
We have adapted our CARF-accredited Oz San Diego Residential Treatment model to meet the needs of the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Oz San Diego provides individualized, strengths-based therapy using a model that simultaneously supports teens and their families.
Families participate in guided family therapy sessions, and teens meet with their therapist individually in teletherapy sessions to encourage growth and healing for the whole family unit.
The YMCA's Youth and Family Services department offers many different types of counseling services in both English and Spanish, and we are now offering many of these services through teletherapy sessions online.
