Improving the Lives of Children, Youth and Families
Over the last 20 years, YMCA Youth & Family Services programs have supported youth at a critical point in their lives, where immediate access to safe shelter and services can be the difference between a life of stability and wellness or one of chronic stress and uncertainty.
A Refuge in the Hills
In 2019, we secured a 25 unit apartment building in Escondido. We're working diligently to renovate each and every unit to create dignified and beautiful spaces for young people to call home.
- Built in 1979
- Each unit has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
- Garages
- Ample parking
- Courtyard
- Playground
- Outdoor community space
- Park-like setting
- Live in, on-site support
- On-site community space and resource center
This complex will allow 44 youth and any dependent children to experience safe and stable housing with supportive services to assist them in their quest for well-being and self-sufficiency.
This building is a critical component of the Y’s innovative service model and will allow for increased impact in youth’s lives.
We need partners to help us make this building a safe haven for young people — so they can feel secure, stable, and ready to navigate their future plans.
