Over the past three years, we have witnessed immense shifts in community needs and priorities. In response to these changes, our Y has committed to expanding and providing equitable access to community-relevant programs and resources. Our policy vision is anchored in improving the well-being of individuals and communities, with an emphasis on positive youth development.

POSITIVE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
PRIORITIZING THE HUMAN BEFORE THE ATHLETE OR STUDENT
Our approach to PYD is strategic, tested and measured. Our Y provides practical tools for all Y staff to support the well-being of youth in all Y programs and services. By engaging authentically, challenging growth, expanding interests, managing goals, promoting peer bonds, and sharing power, our Y will positively impact youth’s mental, physical and emotional well-being, combatting the growing health crisis in our community.

OUR STRATEGIC PRIORITIES
The house graphic illustrates our strategic priorities, which include four primary focus areas. A fifth strategic priority is represented in the Y’s "Freedom within the Framework" philosophy that is underneath the house, where the Y will change to meet the needs of our individual communities. The foundation of "the house" is our mission, vision and values.
