Gymnastics at Eastlake YMCA
Build Strength, Skills and Confidence with Your Friends at the Y
Welcome to Eastlake YMCA gymnastics, where toddlers to teens (and adults, too!) can grow strong, get confident, find balance and jump into fun. Based on the skills, levels and progressions developed by USA Gymnastics, our gymnasts learn in an encouraging atmosphere as they build skills to progress through each level of the program.

Class Size
Classes have an average of 6-8 children.
Multiple Children in Class
We do not offer a discount for multiple children in the program.
Attire for Classes
All children should wear clothing without zippers, large buttons or anything else that could get in their way. Leotards are preferred for girls. Athletic shorts and T-shirts are allowed. Please, no shoes or socks/stockings with feet or jewelry (except for earring studs). All long hair should be pulled back.
Checking in for Classes
All registered students should wait in the lobby for your child’s teacher to call students for the class.
Missed Classes/Make-Up Policy
New participants may begin at any time, however, we do not prorate sessions. Make-up classes can be scheduled on a space-available basis, and must be done in the same session. Contact the Welcome Center to check availability: 619-421-9622.
If your child was sick and you have a note from the doctor, we will issue a credit for the class he/she missed.
Transferring Classes
You may switch classes after a session begins if the class you wish to transfer to is not full. No fee is charged for this change unless a price difference exists between the two classes.
Progressing to the Next Level
When your child is ready to move up to the next level, your coach will give him/her a promotion certificate. Bring the certificate when you register for the next session. If you have any questions about your child's status in progressing, please feel free to ask his/her coach.
Parents/Guardians
We have a viewing area with a window into the gym where parents are able to watch classes. Additional viewing can be done from our strength equipment in the cross training center. There is no viewing area inside of the gym.
If you are a YMCA member, you can use the facility during class, but you must be present to pick up your child after class.
Scheduling Private Lessons
Private lessons are available for any child age five and older. You can purchase a private lesson at the registration desk. You will then submit your availability to our Gymnastics Coordinator and you will be paired with a coach.
Purchasing Leotards
We usually have leotards available for purchase! Please ask at the Welcome Center to see our latest supply.
Scheduling a Gymnastics Birthday Party
Birthday party reservations must be made in person at the Eastlake YMCA, during regular registration hours. Reservations must be made at least three weeks in advance with our Gymnastics Coordinator. Parties are offered on Saturdays and Sundays. The rate is $200 per party for 10 children. A fee of $12 is charged for each additional child. There is a $50 cancellation fee.
