A Great Place to Learn and Play Before and After School

Welcome to Character Builders, the Joe and Mary Mottino Family YMCA's Before and After School Program serving students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 at Christa McAuliffe Elementary School.

Character Builders is an affordable way to ensure your child is in a safe, fun, and caring environment before and/or after school. Each day includes a new program or activity to help participants learn, build life skills, and develop healthy relationships — including healthy snacks, sports and games, art and music, and more!

How to Register

1. Pick up the registration packet at the Mottino Family YMCA's Welcome Center or Christa McAuliffe Elementary.
2. Fill the registration packet out completely.
3. Provide the completed Registration Packet (in person) to the Mottino Family YMCA's Welcome Center along with the $50 registration fee (if applicable) and a voided check or card/payment option.

Registration spots are filled on a first-come first-served basis. Registration takes three business days to process, not including the day the packet was handed in.

About Our Staff

All staff leaders are selected after a thorough interview and background check process and are cleared through the Community Care Licensing office of the State of California. Our staff has units in child development and a desire to be a great role model for your child and demonstrate YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Fees for Character Builders 2018-2019Christa McAuliffe Elementary School

Fees have been calculated based upon an annualized rate of the total number of program days and divided into 10 equal monthly payments regardless of the number of school days per month of service. Fees cover all minimum days and parent/teacher conferences.

• Full-time is considered 4 to 5 (or more) days per week.
• Part-time is considered 2 to 3 (or less) days per week.
• Registration fee is $50 per child (if applicable)

Registration Details

This program is available only for students from Christa McAuliffe Elementary in Kindergarten to Grade 5.

Registration Fee is $50 per child, but no registration fee is required for active members.

Please allow 3 business days for paperwork and tuition fees to be processed before child care services may begin.

All fees are due in advance of the month of service. Billing is processed on the 15^th of the month, covering care from that day to the 15^th of the next month. Cancellations must be made 10 days before the billing date (the 5^th of the month), otherwise your account may be charged.

If balances are not paid on time, your child may not participate in the program.
