Mondays - Friday: 3:30pm — 7:00pm

The Teen & Family Drop-In Center at Jackie Robinson Family YMCA provides a special place for families to get connected to resources and to connect with each other. Located next to the front desk, this center provides snacks, computer usage, resources and referrals, parent support, teen groups and much more!

Some activities we offer at our Teen Center include:

  • Job Preparation Workshops
  • 1-on-1 Mental Health Support

TEEN PROGRAMS

STEAM and Wellness Summer Program

When: Mondays - Fridays from 12:00pm to 5:00pm
Optional lunch available from 12pm to 1pm
Session 2: August 1 — August 26

Who: Any student attending a school in the San Diego Unified School District, ages 11 — 17

Teens will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on STEAM and literacy activities from organizations like:

  • Cloudcast Podcast
  • Creative Coding Careers
  • Words Alive Book Club
  • Fleet Science Center
  • Traveling Stories

There will be weekly prizes availble based on program attendance, plus free lunch and snacks will be provided daily along with family meals on Fridays!

Business Management Course

Business course outline

When: Mondays from 4:00pm to 7:00pm

Where: Jackie Robinson Teen Center

FREE & OPEN to all High School Students!

What you will learn:

  • Explain and practice the influence of personality, values, attitudes and perceptions of organizational behavior through the application of motivational theories to organizational scenarios.
  • Analyze and apply leadership theories, including power bases and influence tactics.
  • Explore the role marketing plays in any organization.
  • Develop a practical understanding of cost-effective marketing strategy and product planning/development.
  • Examine case studies, apply findings and themes to real-world challenges as a means to guide strategic-decision making.
  • Skills critical to professional success and/or success in post-secondary education (creativity, collaboration, communication, presentation, organization and problem solving, resilience and growth mindset, among others) are infused throughout the program.

*Please note this program is a cohort. Enrolled students will take all 3 classes together and in order.
