CHILD WATCH OPTIONS FOR FAMILIES

We know our Y parents are eager to exercise at the Y while their children play in a fun, safe environment! We're thrilled to be able to offer our members options for Child Watch at several of our branches, with enhanced safety and cleaning protocols to provide the safest environment possible.

Child Watch at the YMCA is a supervised, childcare experience for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school-age children to stay and play while parents enjoy a workout. Kids at Child Watch will engage in playtime activities that foster learning and social interaction. YMCA staff members are trained to ensure the safety and well-being of the children in their care so that parents can confidently pursue their fitness goals and take part in the various YMCA programs. Child Watch at the YMCA is not only a reliable resource for parents but also a place where children can make friends, learn and have fun in a supportive and inclusive environment. 

CHILD WATCH MEMBERSHIP

Select YMCA branches offer a Child Watch membership option. Those with family memberships can add a Child Watch option to their accounts for a monthly fee which is valid for all children in the family. Ages vary based on location. 

HOW IT WORKS

You can add Child Watch to your Family I or II membership and may opt in or out of the service at any time. While you exercise or relax at the Y, children can play under the supervision of trained YMCA staff. Due to reduced capacity, participation will be first come, first served. Capacity is available to view online below. To upgrade your membership, visit or call your branch. Choose add-on the Child Watch option to your membership and utilize the service at any location that offers Child Watch!

SIGN-IN/SIGN-OUT PROCESS

• A picture ID and/or family membership card is required. If you do not have your membership card available, another form of ID is required for proof of identification.
• The adult signing in the child must be the same adult signing out the child.
• We have a 90-minute limit per session, per child. A member may use up to two sessions per day — one in the morning and one after 2:00pm (where available).
• Notify a Child Watch staff member of any allergies at time of sign-in.
• Adults must stay on the premises while utilizing Child Watch services.
• Cell phones are not allowed inside our Child Watch areas.

PREPARING YOUR CHILD FOR CHILD WATCH

• Finish snacks outside. Keep drinks in closed containers labeled with your child’s name. Only water, milk and/or formula is permitted. Formula should be premixed and ready for your baby.
• Leave personal toys and electronics at home. Comfort items are allowed but weaned after the first couple of visits to support in your child’s development.
• Children must be potty trained or wearing a clean diaper. For health and safety reasons, we do not change diapers.
• Shoes are required for children who can walk.
