Aquatic Day Camps combine the traditional fun of YMCA day camps with a specialized focus on skills and learning related to aquatic activities.
Whether your camper is swimming with friends or making waves at the pool, these fun camps are perfect for anyone who loves the water — whether they are a fantastic swimmer or just getting started.

SPLASH CAMP - LEVEL II
What’s more epic in summer than sun and swimming? Enjoy two hours of daily water time at the South Bay Family YMCA aquatics center. Advanced Splash is recommended for YMCA swim stages 4, 5 & 6 level swimmers.
Note: Pre- requisites for an advanced camp would be similar to our branch swim test to use the big pool. Tread water independently for 1 minute. Swim 25 yards (One length of the pool) independently. Swim on front with side breathing at least 15 yards. Swim on back at least 15 yards. Campers will focus on stroke introduction, learning basic stroke technique in front crawl (freestyle) and back crawl (backstroke). Elements of breaststroke and butterfly are introduced, and water safety techniques are reinforced.
