Extended Learning Academy - Bella Mente Montessori Academy

The Extended Learning Academy is one of several state-funded Expanded Learning Programs (ELP) offered by the YMCA of San Diego County in partnership with the Bella Mente Montessori Academy.This program strives to ensure that all students are academically socially, culturally and physically healthy.

In collaboration with the YMCA of San Diego County, along with the Bella Mente Montessori Academy, students and their families, we will work together to assure that our program serves in promoting entire student development and lifelong learning.

How to Apply to the ELA Before & After School Program

Enrollment & Participation Information

  • All students from TK to Grade 8 who attend the ELA school site can apply.
  • Applications can be completed through our online application. 

Important Documents and PDF Forms

  • Please create your YMCA account here, to access and fill out your child/children's medical forms, photo waivers, emergency contacts etc.

How Are Students Selected?

All students who attend ELA schools can apply.This program is free for qualifying families; additional spaces may become available for a fee.

However, priority is given to students who:

  • Are experiencing homelessness.
  • Are currently in the foster system.
  • Receive free or reduced lunch.
  • Are English Language Learners (ELL).
  • Date of application/interest form submission.
  • Families must re-apply each school year as current enrollment does not guarantee enrollment in future school years.

Enrollment is also determined by:

  • Total space available in the program at each school
