Y Active Adults Trip

Healthy living is about more than exercise. At the Y, adults can choose from a variety of social activities and events that provide an avenue for spending time with friends, building connections and exploring interests. Take a day trip to a museum or wine country, play a game of bridge or pickleball, hike a mountain or paddle a kayak, take in a movie or discuss a book — everyone from baby boomers to seniors can find something fun to do at the Y.

More Information

Have you always wanted to try kayaking? Now is your chance! No experience needed. We will teach you how to safely and correctly paddle and steer your kayak. Enjoy our guided tour from Shelter Island. Sign up with a friend to share your tandem (two person) kayak or we will team you up with a new friend.

We’ll meet at Shelter Island for an introductory paddling lesson. Then we’ll launch our kayaks for a beautiful tour of the bay. We hope to see dolphins and other ocean life. We make it easy for you to join us on this paddle. We provide all the kayaks, life vests and equipment plus an introductory paddling lesson. No previous kayaking or swimming experience is required, but an intermediate level of fitness is suggested. We use stable, comfortable kayaks that are easy to paddle for a safe, enjoyable day on the bay. Meet at Shelter Island boat ramp.
