Basketball League

Coed Recreational League

Basketball is an exciting sport combining team play and individual skills. Leagues are designed to work on the fundamentals of the sport, teamwork, sportsmanship and fun! Our progressive programs, with age-specific divisions, are for players of all skill levels. While basic skills of the game are learned through practices and gameplay, every child develops the values necessary to be successful in life.

More Information

Our recreational basketball league plays 5-on-5 with modified rules for each division. Each athlete can expect one practice during the week and one game on Saturday. While practices are geared towards strengthening your child’s individual skills, game time emphasizes each player’s understanding of the sport, game rules and team competition. By the end of the season, your child will have gained a better understanding of the sport, its rules and the basic skills. Coaches focus on developing a sense of teamwork in a setting that encourages fun, healthy, age-appropriate competition.

To bring/wear: Players should wear athletic shorts, closed-toe shoes and a water bottle. Game jersey provided by the Y.

Games/practices: We play on Saturday between 9:00am and 6:00pm. Practices begin the week of September 12 — once weekly, 60 minutes, scheduled during the week between 4:00 and 8:00pm.

Team/coach requests: Our goal is to ensure balanced teams. Teammate requests are not guaranteed, and families are allowed one buddy request. We will do our best to accommodate sibling requests. Players who make a request and attend assessments will have priority. Coach requests are not permitted.

Registration will remain open until teams are full.

Mandatory skills assessments will be online. Our Sports Coordinator, Isaiah Bacon, will be sending a questionnaire to all families registered. Please take the time to fill this out with accurate information as this will help us in creating balanced teams.

Practice days and game times will be scheduled after assessments with practices beginning September 12 and the first game for all ages on September 17.

Players who do not receive an assessment should contact the sports coordinator, Isaiah Bacon, [email protected], after registering to provide information to ensure teams are balanced.
