Stage 6 - Stroke Mechanics
School Age - Swim Lessons
Stage 6 swim lessons for school age children at the YMCA focus on stroke mechanics, refining the stroke technique for all four of the major competitive swimming styles. At this advanced stage, elements of competitive swim are also introduced, such as flip turns and efficiency techniques. Deep water safety skill enhancement and endurance techniques are also reinforced. Students are encouraged to participate on the swim team after graduating from this course for further skill development. See Swim Lessons for an overview of our Stages progression.
