The National Lacrosse League’s San Diego Seals, in partnership with Rady Children’s Hospital and the Ryan Family YMCA in Point Loma, will host a special press event and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, February 22 at 11:00 am to officially unveil the team’s brand-new home practice field, Rady Children’s Field. Rady Children’s Field is a collaboration between the Seals, Rady Children’s and the YMCA to create a brand-new practice field for the Seals. Rady Children’s Field is a mixed-use venue. In addition to hosting the Seals’ practices, the field will also serve children, the San Diego community at-large, the YMCA and its members. It is located in Bill Cleator Park, directly below the Ryan Family YMCA.
Featured speakers include YMCA CEO Todd Tibbits, Rady Children’s Hospital President & CEO Dr. Patrick Frias, Seals CEO Paul Speaker and Seals Team Captain Wes Berg. Potential speakers may also include Seals defenseman Cam Holding and YMCA Executive Director Jonathon Collopy, who both helped oversee this project. Special guests, Steven Woods, co-host of the Ben and Woods Show on FM 97.3 and the Seals’ in-game announcer at Pechanga Arena, will serve as emcee.

Support our partners at their home game on Friday, February 23, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, as they take on the Georgia Swarm at the Pechanga Arena (directions). It's Marvel Superhero Night, so come dressed as your favorite hero, invite your friends and cheer loudly as the Seals take the field! FEBRUARY 24 COMMUNITY DAY OF LACROSSE
The excitement doesn't stop there! On Saturday, February 24, from 9:00am to 12:00pm, join us for a day of lacrosse at Ryan Family YMCA! Meet and greet with the Seals players, cheer alongside Salty the Seal and the Sirens cheer team and participate in a free clinic for all ages — no gear required. It's a day filled with action, camaraderie and the sheer joy that comes from playing lacrosse. Play will be noncontact, guided, instructional and fun! View the full schedule here.
