San Diego Loyal SC is the Y's official youth soccer technical partner

  • YMCA youth soccer leagues to feature SD Loyal-branded soccer jerseys
  • Partnership to kick off with 2022 Loyal season and YMCA spring youth soccer season
  • Expansive agreement includes technical soccer support, enhanced volunteer coaching content, player appearances, wellness collaboration with Rady Children’s Hospital, and a “YMCA Family Night” at the Loyal home game on Saturday, June 11

March 15, 2022 – Today, San Diego Loyal SC and the YMCA of San Diego County (YMCA) announced a new partnership making an impact in the San Diego community through health equity and youth programming. 

As part of the collaboration, San Diego Loyal SC will serve as the “Official Youth Soccer Technical Partner” for the YMCA’s youth soccer leagues. The San Diego Loyal SC will provide direction and guidance to our volunteer coaches, co-branded youth soccer league jerseys, and at least on play appearance on a Saturday game day (pending play availability. As the mental health partner for San Diego Loyal SC, Rady Children's Hospital will provide resources to our players on self-confidence, positive relationships and resilience. 

“We are thrilled to have the YMCA of San Diego County as an official partner of San Diego Loyal,” said Shannon Mac Millan, Vice President of Community Relations for SD Loyal. “Our primary goal as a Club is to celebrate and unite San Diego. With 14 YMCA branches throughout the region from Oceanside to Chula Vista, this partnership will serve as a conduit for the local soccer community to come together and recognize the unique neighborhoods that make this region the best in the country.”

The partnership also includes integrated content and branding opportunities within select YMCA soccer facilities.

Throughout the upcoming Spring soccer season the organizations will also work together to identify and offer a range of experiences and opportunities to grow the game of soccer while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle for San Diego’s youth.
