SUPPORT IN THE STORM

Since the onset of the flooding on January 22, 2024, the Jackie Robinson Family YMCA has been a convener, connector and unifier for the Southeast San Diego community, providing much-needed resources and support. As part of a Collaborative, our Y has offered hot showers, mental health services and distributed 145 hotel rooms to 299 adults and 103 children. Additionally, we've been a central meeting point for relief efforts and a pivotal drop-off location for donations. As the community begins to rebuild, we're transitioning our focus to guide individuals towards specialized disaster recovery organizations, ensuring tailored support for everyone affected by the flooding. Learn more here about our efforts and resources available.
