Flexible financial support that centers young people’s choice
WHO WE SUPPORT
The Direct Cash Transfer Program offers free financial assistance to young adults ages 18–21 in San Diego County who are at risk of homelessness. Participants are selected through an application and selection process designed by young people themselves, followed by interviews conducted by YMCA staff.
WHAT WE OFFER
Participants receive direct financial support alongside guidance and learning opportunities to help young adults move toward their goals. Funds are flexible and can be used in ways that make the most sense for each participant.
HOW IT WORKS
Over 12 months, participants receive direct financial support paired with financial literacy workshops and personalized support—reducing immediate stress while building confidence, stability, and independence.
