The YMCA of San Diego County operates licensed preschools across the county, with full and part-time options providing quality care in a nurturing environment. Preschoolers at the Y not only learn the skills necessary for school and academic success, they build independence and confidence that fosters a life-long love of learning.

The most formative time in a child's development occurs within the first five years, which is why we put so much careful planning into our preschools and ensure our staff has a tremendous amount of experience, skill and knowledge.

While each child is unique and develops at his or her own rate, we also believe that they are strong, capable learners who learn best through social and environmental interactions. The Y's specialized preschool programs provide opportunities for young children to learn through play, both individually and in large (or small) groups, stimulating each child's development in a natural, home-like setting.
