LEGENDS at Escondido Union School District
What is LEGENDS? LEGENDS is a state-funded before- and after-school program, known as Expanded Learning Programs (ELP), offered by the YMCA of San Diego County in partnership with the Escondido Union School District. These academic enrichment programs assist students with higher achievement in the school day and create a dynamic after-school environment that gives children the boost they need to succeed academically and socially.
LEGENDS, a free program, provides structured academic, physical and social activities for Kindergarten to Grade 5 students from one of the following elementary school sites in Escondido:
- Bernardo Elementary
- Central Elementary
- Conway Elementary
- Farr Elementary
- Felicita Elementary
- Glen View Elementary
- Juniper Elementary
- Lincoln Elementary
- L.R. Green Elementary
- Miller Elementary
- North Broadway Elementary
- Oak Hill Elementary
- Orange Glen Elementary
- Pioneer Elementary
- Quantum Elementary
- Reidy Creek Elementary
- Rock Springs Elementary
- Rose Elementary
The program does not operate when schools are closed, including intercessions, vacations and holidays.
How to Apply
Enrollment & Participation Information
- All K-5th students who attend a LEGENDS school can apply online.
- Families will be contacted if space is available.
How Are Students Selected?
- The program is open to all eligible students based on the date the application was received. If the program reaches capacity then students will be placed on waitlist in the order applications were received.
