PrimeTime at San Diego Unified School District

The PrimeTime Extended Day Program provides elementary and middle school students (TK-Grade 8) with a fun and engaging learning environment before and after school. Parents and guardians can feel comfortable knowing their children are not only receiving professional academic support but are also interacting with peers in a physically and emotionally safe environment.

Enrichment Activities

PrimeTime offers a wide range of enrichment activities designed to engage students in various interests and skills:

  • Art, Music, and Theatre: Encouraging creativity and self-expression through diverse artistic mediums.
  • Health and Nutrition: Promoting healthy lifestyles with lessons on nutrition and physical activity.
  • Athletics: Developing teamwork and physical fitness through sports and active play.
  • Educational and Cooperative Games: Enhancing learning and social skills through fun, interactive games.
  • Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM): Fostering a love for discovery and innovation.

How to Apply to the PrimeTime After School Program

Enrollment & Participation Information

  • Eligibility: Your child must be enrolled during the regular school day at the school where you are applying for PrimeTime.
  • Application: All families with children in elementary and middle schools (TK-Grade 8) who want to participate in PrimeTime for the 2024-25 school year must submit an online application. This includes children already in the program and those on the wait list.

How Are Students Selected?

Under the California Department of Education (CDE) Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) grant requirements, students who meet at least one of the following criteria will be given priority registration.  In the event the program reaches capacity the earliest date and time will be the tie breaker.

  • Homeless/foster youth (highest priority)
  • English Language Learner
  • Free or reduced-price meal eligibility based on the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) Income form.

If a program reaches capacity the submission date and time will be considered.  All other students not meeting the above criteria, registration will be first come, first serve based on program capacity.
