CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Access to unlimited group fitness classes is one of the best benefits of Y membership. Zumba, yoga, cycling, BODYPUMP, water exercise, Forever Fit, family-friendly classes and more — we truly have a class for everybody! See below to find basic descriptions of our cardio, mind/body, strength classes, and check the group fitness schedule to see what’s available at a branch near you.

TIPS FOR GROUP FITNESS CLASSES

  • Bring your own towel and water bottle. Most locations have mats available, but you can bring your own, too.
  • Attendance is first come, first served. Some locations issue passes for popular classes, usually 30 minutes prior to the class start time.
  • Walking into a fitness studio for the first time with people you don't know can be intimidating! Don't worry! Arrive early, and introduce yourself to the instructor.
  • Our welcoming, experienced instructors are great at providing tips and modifications to ensure everyone is comfortable with their workout.
  • Most classes are for ages 13+, but many are designated as family-friendly, appropriate for children ages 7+ who are accompanied by an adult.

GUIDELINES FOR GROUP FITNESS CLASSES

  • Drinks must be in a sealed container (no glass).

Respect for all

  • While we encourage exercising with friends, reserving space is not permitted.
  • Please dress appropriately and refrain from denim, swimwear and open-toed shoes.
  • Excessive use of perfume, cologne and scented lotions is not permitted.
  • Phones must be silenced and stored away.

For your safety

  • Follow the instructor’s routine except for modifications.
