A gymnastics journey that grows with you

Welcome to Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA gymnastics — a place to grow, from your very first class to your final year on the competitive team. Toddlers, teens and adults alike build strength, confidence and coordination in a supportive, skill-focused environment. Our classes follow USA Gymnastics levels and progressions, so every gymnast has a clear path forward — from that first cartwheel all the way to advanced tumbling and team competition.

PRESCHOOL GYMNASTICS

Accompanied by a caregiver, children learn to be comfortable in a gymnasium setting while setting the stage for a healthy lifestyle. This safe, fun and supportive environment enhances motor development and eye-hand coordination through various skill-focused rotations and free playtime.

Preschool Gymnastics

Preschoolers build confidence in this independent class, learning trampoline, bars, beam and floor skills while following a coach’s direction. Obstacle courses, parachutes and songs make skill-focused rotations fun while developing balance, coordination, flexibility and strength. SPECIALTY GYMNASTICS

Designed to match preschoolers’ boundless energy, introduce your little acrobat to the world of Cirque while focusing on coordination, flexibility, strength and balance and enhancing motor development and eye-hand coordination. Rotations on various equipment teach children beginning cirque techniques such as aerial and ground skills as the building blocks for higher-level trick development.

Cultivate your aspiring acrobats’ strength, body awareness and confidence in this beginner cirque class. Students will dive into skill work on the trapeze, fabric, hand balancing, partner work and object manipulation to build a strong foundation in technique and artistry while encouraging creative expression.

Expand on the fundamentals built-in beginner cirque with a focus on growing technique, conditioning and broadening creative expression. Acrobats continue to work on trapeze, fabric, hand balancing, partner work, and object manipulation while expanding vocabulary in acrobatics, aerial, and juggling and working to increase stamina, strength and flexibility. Coach evaluation required.

High Flyers gymnasts begin on the ground with basic climbing, foot and hand locks. Then take to the air to flip, drop and descend. Music, choreography, strength and flexibility are also large components of this program. Coach evaluation required.

COMPETITIVE GYMNASTICS

Pre-Team is the first step into competitive gymnastics — gymnasts learn routines for every event and get real competition experience at our Y-League meets against other YMCA Pre-Teams, building the foundation to join our Competitive Team.

Our Junior Olympics program (Levels 3–10) offers two paths: compulsory, where gymnasts master standardized USA Gymnastics routines to build a strong foundation, and optional, where more advanced gymnasts perform unique routines on each event. This is a year-round commitment requiring auto-pay tuition, with competition fees and uniforms as additional costs.
