In 2022, the Border View Family YMCA launched an innovative and sustainable YMCA-based center with expanded offerings that provides accessible services, resources and support to meet community needs. We are excited to announce we have reintroduced group exercise classes and offer additional on-site community support services.


We are thrilled to welcome our community back to our Wellness Center!


  • Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 12:00pm | 4:00pm-8:00
  • Saturday 8:00am - 11:30am

Please Note:

During this first phase of the reopening, family locker rooms and single-use restrooms will be available. Unfortunately, locker rooms, showers, Child Watch and pool will remain closed at this time. We are working hard to expand our services and amenities and will keep you updated. We look forward to welcoming you back!


Staff Spotlight

We would like to welcome back Mike Valle — our new sports and health and wellness Coordinator. Mike previously served as the Border View Family YMCA sports coordinator, and we proudly welcome him back home to lead the charge and launch of sports and enhance health and wellness opportunities. Welcome back Mike!

Women's Wellness Weekend

September 22-24, 2023 | $199 member / $225 non-member – Join us at Camp Martson for a relaxing weekend filled with camp activities, delicious meals and classes focused on mind and body wellness. Register today!


Various dates | 5:30pm - 7:30pm — Join us for an evening of connection and conversation with a community of parents, caregivers and child care professionals. Dinner and child care will be provided. These events are free and open to the community. Registration is required.

Health and Wellness


Join us for a one-hour education session on Cancer Prevention 101, in partnership with UCSD Moores Cancer Center. The focus of the class is to learn what steps to take in order to live a healthier life and prevent the possibility of cancer. This is free and open to the community. Light refreshments will be provided. RSVP today. Space is limited. Spanish translator available.

Come out and play at Border View Family YMCA! We have new basketball and volleyball clinics available on Saturdays! - Register today!

  • Youth Sports Leagues: Fall season starts soon! Team practice dates will be released Saturday, September 16.
    • Basketball - Play in a basketball league at Border View Family YMCA, starting September 18! Divisions are available for ages 6-7, 8-9 and 10-13. Games take place on Saturdays with practices during the week:
      • Ages 6-7 practice on Mondays, 5:30pm | Ages 8- 9 practice on Mondays, 5:30pm | Ages 10-13 practice on Mondays, 6:30pm - Register today! 
    • Volleyball - Play in a volleyball league at Border View Family YMCA starting Tuesday, September 19 for ages 6-9, and Thursday, September 21 for ages 10-13! Games take place on Saturdays with practices during the week. Register today!
  • Peewee Lessons: 
    • Soccer lessons - Soccer lessons are available for our peewees (ages 3-5) starting this fall! Peewee soccer will teach young athletes the skills and fundamentals needed to play! Lessons are Saturdays 9:00am - 10:00am. Register now for peewee soccer!


Play pickleball at Border View Family YMCA! Play takes place in the gymnasium on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:00am - 11:00am. Free for members - just show up!


Casa Familiar providing support to community members with direct immigration services and immigration-related information. Consultations available for diverse immigration processes by a DOJ Accredited Representative that do not require legal assistance.

On-site support available at Border View Family YMCA on the following dates:

Chula Vista Community Collaborative will be providing an on-site promotora who is the first point of contact for clients accessing services at a Family Resource Center (FRC) and responds to all referrals, walk-ins and incoming calls.

  • Conducts basic client intake, screening and referrals.
  • Accurately inputs information into database and maintain client confidentiality.
  • Maintains and updates information on resources and services available in the community (including all supplemental services).
  • Assists with completing client forms as necessary.
  • Receives and screens telephone calls providing information as necessary or directing the caller to proper person.

On-site services to be offered at Border View Family YMCA:
Monday & Wednesday Evenings 5:00pm-8:00pm


San Ysidro Health provides access to pediatric medical services via the Mobile Clinic. These services include:

  • Physical exams (routine, school and sports)
  • WIC Hemolgobin Test
  • Immunizations (bring your child’s shot record)
  • TB Skin Test (2 months – 17 years)

On-site services provided on the fourth Wednesday of each month 9:00AM-2:45PM closed 12:00PM-1:00PM.

Attention all Teens! We want to welcome you all back for another school year with our first YMCA Teens Night of the school year! Join us for a day full of fun activities, conversations and food!

Connecting You To Care

We've streamlined the child care search process with our enhanced referral system to help parents make the best decision for their families. Learn more!

  • Free Behavior Support Consultation Services for caregivers seeking support for challenging behaviors in children ages 0-8 (virtual and on-site).

  • Community Listening Sessions: We encourage community members to share their ideas, preferences and perspectives at our Community Listening Sessions.
  • Conmigo Project: We are partnering with San Diego State University Research Foundation to work with Latina mothers and their daughters to increase physical activity, mother-daughter communication and other areas of health and wellness.
  • Parent engagement and education sessions.

Help Paying for Child Care

Do you or someone you know need help paying for child care?

The San Diego County Centralized Eligibility List (CEL) is one application that connects you to different agencies across San Diego to help pay for child care for families who qualify. Child care has become the second-largest expense for families – spending up to 50% of their household budget a year. See if you qualify for this service today.
