LIVESTRONG
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA engages cancer survivors through an approach that focuses on the whole person — mind and body. Through this program participants work with trained Y staff to improve cardiovascular endurance and functional ability, build muscle mass and strength, and increase flexibility. In addition to physical benefits, the program also focuses on the mental and emotional well-being of survivors and their families. This creates a supportive community environment where people affected by cancer can connect during treatment and beyond. Get more information online here.

Reducing Stress this Holiday Season
The holidays are approaching fast, and as they are festive, they can also be stressful. Some of us may have families to celebrate with, while others may not have the same support. Mental health can be impacted during the holidays. This is why the Y provides Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) at no cost to recognize the signs and symptoms. For more information, connect with Alyssa Ortega at [email protected]. Also, our team of mental health professionals has compiled five ways to help your family navigate the stress of the holidays in a positive and impactful way. Learn more.
