CHILD WATCH MEMBERSHIP OPTION
Family members can opt to add a Child Watch option to their accounts, which includes unlimited use of the service for $10 monthly. Use your Child Watch benefit at any YMCA that offers the service. While you exercise or relax at the Y, children can play under the supervision of trained YMCA staff. Child Watch is open to children ages 6 months to 12 years old.

First Friday Breakfast
Friday, September 8 | 7:15am — Join us for our First Friday Breakfast where our panelists will discuss "Digital Equity and How the Affordable Connectivity Program Can Help Our Community and Businesses". Digital equity has a positive impact on our society from education and health to democracy and our local economy. Yet, 60% of San Diego County’s eligible households still have not enrolled in the federal government’s Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). Learn from a panel of education, business, community and government experts who address the issue of digital equity and how programs like the ACP can help our community and businesses thrive. Women's Wellness Weekend

Health and Wellness
STRENGTH & STABILITY WORKSHOP
Core strength and stability is a basic key element for good posture, body mobility and injury prevention. Through this 5-week core series workshop, you will learn to identify, engage and strengthen the key muscular components that make up your core. Using a variety of yoga poses and movement exercises, this comprehensive workshop will focus on specific regions of the core to help you feel stronger every day. Space is limited. Bring water and a yoga mat.

Whether you are preparing for a race or just running for exercise, connect with other runners through the South Bay Family YMCA Trail Runners Club. Activities for Kids and Families
CHARACTER BUILDERS
Character Builders registration is now open! Learn more about Character Builders and see if you qualify for a scholarship.
SWIM UPDATES:
- Swim lessons: Three new private swim lesson time slots have been added on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Register today!
- New group swim lessons on Saturdays!
- Swim team: Our swim team is practicing regularly! If your child would like to get involved, swimmers should be proficient in 100 yards freestyle with rotary breathing, 100-200 IM based on ability, 25-50 yards butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle. Learn more about swim teams at the Y.

- Parent/Child Swim Lessons: Infants and toddlers learn to be comfortable in the water and develop swim readiness skills through fun and confidence-building experiences, while parents learn about water safety, drowning prevention, and the importance of supervision.
- Swim clinics: Join us on Fridays at 6:55pm for this hour-long class! These swim clinics are geared toward helping swimmers improve their stroke mechanics, stamina, prepare for swim team tryouts and practice what you learned in swim lessons. Clinics are monthly and the cost will be the same pricing as that month's school-aged swim lessons.
- Family Swim: We will have family swim/open swim in the instructional pool Monday - Thursday from 3:00pm-7:30pm. The main pool will have two lap lanes available for family swim patrons, but the three other lanes and the rest of the pool will be reserved for aquatic programming. However, the main pool will be available all day on Fridays for family swim.
INCLUSION AIDS
Inclusion aids provide one-on-one attention to kids with diverse abilities so they can safely participate in a group swim lesson. Inclusion aids are available to swim lesson participants at no cost by request only, on a first-come, first-served basis, as supplies are limited. YOUTH SPORTS & PEEWEE LESSONS
- Youth sports: Come out and play at Border View Family YMCA! We have new basketball and volleyball clinics available on Saturdays! View all clinics available to you!
- Peewee lessons: Get in the game! Peewee soccer lessons for ages 3-5 are on Saturdays, 9:00am - 10:00am. - Register today!
YOUTH FITNESS TRAINING
Kids don't have to stay home while parents work out! Join our youth fitness program for fun activities designed especially for ages 6-12. Kids will learn how to move, interact, and train to improve their strength, stamina and social skills. Our structured format will focus on basic fitness fundamentals to keep kids active and moving! We will continue to meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:30pm on the outside turf. Sign up today at the front desk!
BIRTHDAY PARTIES!
Celebrate your day with a splash at the YMCA! We are now offering pool birthday parties! Reserve your two hour time slot for Saturday, 10:00am - 12:00pm, for an hour of birthday-party-people-only swim time in the instructional pool followed by an hour of party time and birthday singing on our pool deck. Birthday party participants will have access to the NEWLY working splash pad for the party's duration! Register online today!
