Y Community Plus members have unlimited access to Child Watch services at 12 YMCA branch locations across San Diego County. With easy reservations through the YMCA app, you can focus on your fitness or unwind at the Y while your children play under the supervision of highly trained YMCA staff. Not yet a Y Community Plus member? Y members can upgrade to the Y Community Plus membership plan by stopping by any location. NEW FITNESS CLASSES

  • Deep-Water Running: Give your feet a break from pounding the pavement by taking your cardio training to the pool. The water is the perfect place for cross-training; you can get your miles in with no impact to your joints! Experience a total body workout in the water using water resistance techniques in deep water. Register today!

SOUND HEALING WORKSHOP

Sound healing is the use of therapeutic frequencies to balance the body and mind by lowering brainwaves to the deeply restorative alpha and theta states. When the frequency of the sound synchronizes with the brainwaves, it provides feelings of relaxation and tranquility. Sound vibrations travel through the body promoting energy flow at a cellular level, bringing us into a more harmonious state of being.

INBODY ASSESSMENTS

InBody body-composition assessments are available by appointment. Now you can leave the guessing behind and know exactly what is inside your body!

PRE/POST KNEE & HIP REHAB CLASSES

Led by certified aquatic personal trainers, this class is designed for those who are planning to or have undergone knee or hip replacements. Prepare your body or continue to improve strength and mobility following discharge from a clinical physical therapy setting. Monthly sessions. Register today!

LIVESTRONG AT THE Y

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a 12-week physical activity program designed to get cancer survivors back on their feet through an approach that focuses on the whole person - mind and body. GRAVITY TRAINING

The GRAVITY Training System has a rolling glide board, various resistance levels and a dynamic cable pulley system that allow you to use your own body weight against the pull of gravity. With more than 250 exercise options, a GRAVITY workout is never boring and is always efficient. Engage all major muscle groups for strength and endurance training, stretching, Pilates, and core training. We offer a variety of class types, including Pilates, Core, Healthy Joint, Total-Body Workout (TBW) and more. Register for upcoming classes.

PICKLEBALL

OPEN PLAY

Clinics are back to get you into the swing of the game! Beginner clinics highlight court setup and equipment needs, basic stroke skills, basic rules and scoring. Intermediate clinics cover tips for a more consistent serve and return, point strategy, and dink shots. Equipment will be provided. View all pickleball activities at Mission Valley YMCA.

LESSONS — Updated for  December 2023

Mission Valley YMCA is offering pickleball lesson packages! Pickleball is a paddle sport (similar to racquetball) that combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a Wiffle Ball, over a net. MEN'S PERSPECTIVE GROUP

Y MEMBERS | MEN AGES 18+

Calling all men interested in strengthening themselves in mind, body and spirit! Join us in the community room from 7:00pm - 8:00pm on the first and third Wednesday of each month for Men’s Perspective Group– a new well-being initiative designed to bring men together every week for healthy discussion on how to be the best version of themselves. YOUTH SPORTS

  • Fall Season is in full swing! Get in the game with youth sports leagues, clinics and peewee lessons.

        • Coed age divisions available for ages 6-7, 8-9 and 13-15. Practice takes place on Wednesdays with games on Saturdays.

SKATE PARK

The Mission Valley YMCA Krause Family Skate and Bike Park has a street course, BMX course, concrete bowl, vert ramp and the nation's only skatercross course and is open with daily skate/bike sessions. The park is an all-wheel (non-motorized) facility, so bring your bikes, blades, skateboards and/or scooters for a great time! Learn more.

  • Private Lessons: Individual instruction will help your skateboarder, BMX-er, roller skater or scooter-ist achieve specific goals and get to the next level. Lessons are 30 minutes, one day a week. Various packages available! Register today!
  • New monthly group lessons! We are offering four, 1 hour group lessons for kids 6-12 years of age. We will have a max of 6 spots available. Register today
  • Sponsor the skate park! The Krause Family Skatepark is proud to be San Diego's only supervised park that promotes a safe, friendly and encouraging environment for all. Without the critical support from individuals, companies and foundations, our skate park would not exist and many of our participants would not have a resource that they have grown to love and appreciate. ESPORTS

Esports are video game competitions for individuals and teams of children ages 7–17. YMCA esports encourage healthy kids, families and communities by placing a priority on involvement and healthy competition, the value of participation over winning, team-building as well as individual development, a positive self-image and mutual respect for others. DIGITAL STUDIO

Looking for a fun and inviting social environment to spend your free time? The Mission Valley YMCA's newly renovated digital studio offers access to 20 PC or gaming stations with high-speed internet. As a member, you will also receive discounts on our programs, gaming tournaments, leagues, birthday parties, and more.

NEW! Play Pass Membership

This membership will allow participants to use the computers freely during our open hours. Open hours are Monday–Friday from 2:00pm–7:00pm.

Swim Teams And Lessons

  • Swim teams: Learn more about swim teams. YMCA swim teams offer a fun and challenging environment for youth swimmers who can already demonstrate the basic skills and are ready to take those skills to the next level!
  • Masters swim: Learn more about Masters swim. The YMCA Masters Swim program is a structured lap swim workout designed to help avid swimmers of various skill levels improve their stroke form, ability, endurance and stamina.
  • Swim lessons: Sign up for swim lessons! Enhance your swimming skills and techniques through group or private lessons. Swim lessons are offered for adults, children and parents with preschool-aged children. 
  • Water sports: Make a splash with splash ball! Learn the basics of water polo through this unique, exciting game. For more information contact our aquatics department. - Register today!

  • Sexual Health For Seniors: Wednesday, November 8 | 2:00pm — Dr. Corinne Ashley Yarbrough will be giving a presentation on "Sexual Health for Seniors." Dr. Yarbrough is a board certified, internal medicine physician at Sharp Rees-Stealy who has a special interest in sexual health. She has given multiple lectures on the subject and has treated many patients for sexual dysfunction, especially associated with menopause. Space is limited. Register at the Welcome Center.
  • Watercolor Paint Class: Thursday, November 9 | 12:30 – 2:30pm — Learn basic watercolor techniques from a volunteer team of artists from the San Diego Watercolor Society (SDWS). SDWS will host a special watercolor demonstration/lesson. Meet in the Dick Webster Community Room at the Mission Valley YMCA. Space is limited. Register at the Welcome Center or by November 2.
  • Friendsgiving Potluck/Bingo: Friday, November 17 |11:45am – 2:00pm — Join us for a Friendsgiving Potluck and Bingo hosted by the Mission Valley YMCA! READ FOR A CAUSE

Calling all book lovers! This book fair fundraiser provides scholarships for children and families who could not otherwise participate in programs here at the YMCA! How can you help? Donate books from October 23 - December 30 in the donation boxes inside the lobby (please no magazines), volunteer your time and help us make a positive impact! BLOOD DRIVE

Did you know you could help save up to three lives by giving blood? The YMCA of San Diego County has partnered with the American Red Cross to host blood drives across the county this year. Help address a critical need for blood donations in our community! Check with the Welcome Center for future donation dates.
