At the YMCA of San Diego County, we offer a wide array of swim, sports and fitness programs so participants of all ages can be physically active and find their community in a fun, friendly and encouraging environment. Our goal is to promote not only improving personal health and well-being but also a sense of achievement and belonging. Martial Arts

Martial arts is a great way to get fit and build confidence!

Building off of traditional judo, karate, taekwondo, aikido, or kung fu training, our martial arts programs focus on character development, physical conditioning, self-discipline, pure fighting skills and friendly competition.

Depending on the age and skill level of the class, certain aspects may be emphasized more than others — but every class provides an opportunity to master both the body and mind using these tried and true techniques.

Skateboarding

Our YMCA skate programs have everything a skater could ask for — including ramps, plazas, concrete pools rails and more! Just ask Shaun White and Tony Hawk, two of the most famous local pro skaters who visit our skate parks. Choose from a variety of skate programs to help you learn the latest tricks.

Esports

Esports are video game competitions for individuals and teams of children ages 8 - 12 and ages 12 - 17. The Y's esports encourage and promote healthy kids, families and communities by prioritizing healthy competition rather than rivalry, as well as building a positive self-image and mutual respect for others.

Gamers in the Y's leagues and tournaments will enjoy gameplay in Fortnite, League of Legends, Minecraft, Rocket League, Smash Bros. Ultimate and many more!

Pickleball

Pickleball is a sport that works for all ages and skill levels. The rules are simple and the game is easy to learn. While it does have its own set of quirky rules, these unique rules favor players with less mobility and allow active adults to compete successfully with younger competitors. Build a little skill that can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game.
